Closing checklist

Chairs stacked into 2 piles of 6 (or whatever)
Sugar bowls moved and covered; menus put away
Table cloths rolled and stored
Tables moved together ready for newspapers
Unsold newspapers collated; Recall note completed; placed in green bin
Bruce’s paper placed in green bin if not collected
Dog water bowl emptied (into plants) and brought inside
Plant stand moved into side passageway
Water urn turned off and fully emptied
Coffee machine turned off; used filter in recycling bin; coffee jugs cleaned
Milk Frother cleaned
Socket under water urn (nearest only - into trailing socket) switched off
Bread placed in wicker baskets in kitchen (if yesterday’s - with appropriate reduced sign)
Cakes & Slices moved to kitchen
Bread & cake counter coverings cleaned/rolled
Toilet/washbasin cleaned; paper towel bin emptied into outside dustbin
Check kitchen clean and tidy
Turn off kitchen equipment sockets
Place sponge/scourer/washing-up brush in bleach solution for overnight soak
Check used crockery/cutlery in dishwasher; Switch on if necessary
Remove out of date items from chiller to take home if wanted (otherwise leave for morning)
Turn off chiller light
Turn off weighing scales at socket
Remove bank notes from till and post into top safe; print card machine summary
Turn off RH socket under till
Turn off till display (MODE 2 enter)
Shut stock room door & back shop room (check lights off)
Lock Emergency Exit door; shut and lock rear lobby door
Remove Shop Open & Miles sign from roadside
Turn shop open sign to CLOSED
Sign Daily Diary to show closing procedures completed
Set shop alarm; switch off kitchen lights; close kitchen door
Turn off shop/external lights; exit and lock front door within 45 seconds
